I have been working in regional climate modelling for more than 25 years, with a particular interest in a regional Earth system approach, coupling the different components of the regional climate system. My main geographical areas of interest are the Euro-Mediterranean climate and the Mediterranean Sea.

My research aims to improve our understanding of regional atmospheric and oceanic processes and how they evolve in a changing climate. My scientific interests include thermohaline circulation and deep-water formation, Mediterranean heat and water budgets, the role of aerosols in the regional climate system, and extreme precipitation.

An important part of my work is also devoted to training, teaching and sharing scientific knowledge. I have contributed to the training of many early-career researchers who now work in academic research or R&D. I teach regional climate modelling and make my courses, publications, research data, videos and interviews openly available whenever possible.

I strongly value collaborative research. I have participated in numerous national and international research projects and have been an active member of the CORDEX community since its launch meeting in Toulouse in 2009.

I am also committed to public science that contributes to society, particularly by supporting local adaptation to climate change. For more than ten years, I have contributed scientific expertise to national climate services in France. I also consider communication with non-specialist audiences an important part of my role as a climate scientist, helping to explain climate change and its implications for society.

More broadly, I see climate research as contributing simultaneously to scientific knowledge, education and action.
